Why do we keep having déjà vu on social media?
It seems like most travel bloggers nowadays have copy-paste Instagram accounts which all resemble one another.
Are we running out of places to travel on this small planet of ours or are there simply certain destinations which are so photogenic that anyone with a camera which isn’t connected to a smartphone just must go visit for the perfect picture?
If you’re curious, take a look at which destinations we are referring to (you’ve likely seen these recurring on your social media feeds more than is statistically reasonable):
- The Grand Canyon (of course we’ll start with a popular natural wonder)
- Machu Picchu – because it seems like every person on Facebook has hiked here.
- Times Square – because LIGHTS and TRAFFIC and DIGITAL BILLBOARDS
- Eiffel Tower – the background for proposals and romantic kisses
- Big Ben – what’s a trip to London without it?
